Washington Dulles International Airport Metrorail Station
The Washington Metro Transit Authority added a new stop to connect Dulles International Airport to the DC metro. In addition to the metro stop itself, there is a mile-long underground tunnel with people movers between the metro stop and airport terminal. Along this route are various environmental graphics about the history of the airport itself—from the Eero Saarinen's sketches to the additional terminal wing added in 2009.
Sam designed all graphics for the project. These included large murals, lightboxes, and brushed aluminum printed in full color plus white ink. She also designed graphics for the glass kiosks around the benches at the metro stop itself. These were mounted to clear glass and used white ink to create partially opaque graphics with distinct designs on both sides.
